Meet the Team
Hilary Bird Manager
Hilary holds Dip in Social Work, Mental Health Supporters Certificate and also a Certificate in Hypnotherapy. She has done extensive study in dementia care and continues to study and learn new information.
Graham Activities Co-Ordinator
Graham is our activities person, and he lives on site in his own room, so activities aren’t confined to just mornings. We have entertainment and activities throughout the week and also during the weekends.
Margaret Helleur Registered Nurse
Margaret has over 30 years experience in nursing, for the last 13 years she has specialised in Aged Care. Margaret has knowledge in natural medicine this is only used with support from residents Doctor's and families.
We also have 4 wonderful Care Staff. They are all trained in Elder Care and are excellent caregivers for those in retirement. All the carers cook delicious homemade meals and there is always baking done on Sundays. They are often supported on shift by the manager. Interaction with residents is encouraged at all times. The Manager Hilary Bird lives on site so she is available most times during the day and night. Additionally, we have a Hairdresser that comes to the Resthome when required by Residents, or if they wish they can go to their own hairdresser or barber. Jill from Best Foot Forward comes on a 2 monthly cycle to take good care of everyone's nails. Nutrition Matters Dietition Consultancy Services (NZ Reg Dietitian) are contracted to review content and meal preparation. Doctors visits are arranged for 3 monthly reviews or when required.Aged Concern/Advocacy Service's available. Tui Glen networks with Elder Mental Health Services/Drugs and Addiction services. We also work closely with ADARDS and the Hospice.
